The Stuff Store
[ Environmental exploration ]
A speculative retail concept born from a closed stationary shop in my hometown, stuf. is a cheerfully self-aware store for “stuff”: artisan crafts, plants, and small joys that make people smile, all with a hidden speakeasy tucked slyly in the back. The brand system balanced simplicity with personality through hand-sketched linework and clean structure, creating something that feels ordered but human. A signature teal accent and understated typography kept the system flexible and straightforward, while custom illustrations and signage added moments of unexpected charm for locals and gift shoppers looking for the little things that bring delight.
The sketch-style illustration and playful teal accent paired with clean typography and grid structure demonstrated how the system balanced organized simplicity with delightful human details.
The speakeasy shifts to a more intimate tone after hours while maintaining the brand’s hand-crafted aesthetic. Teal carried through in an elevated way, reinforcing the speakeasy as an intentional extension of stuf. rather than a separate experience.
